Urban, Suburban, and Rural Roadways
Characteristics of Urban/Suburban Roadways
Suburban roadways are characterized by a high traffic volume with many potential hazards. These roads have many intersections with traffic control devices, wide boulevards and with right and left turn lanes. These roads handle traffic of many different types of vehicles, public and private, moving in several different directions all at once.
Urban roadways are even more complex, fast-paced, and with increasing numbers and variety of potential hazards. Traffic must move at a quick-and-steady pace. Their job is to move vehicles and their drivers to destinations some distance away as quickly and efficiently as possible. How can you navigate such a challenging environment?
